  We visited Lebanon in October to ground-truth the information we had placed on the artwork. I’m glad we did, because we were able to ‘fine-tune’ some of the road classifications and fix some minor errors of spelling and location. We were also able to discover a wealth of touristic information to add to our 2nd edition. Most importantly, we were able to explore fabulous Beirut and add lots of information to our artwork. As a result, we now have a double-sided map, with Lebanon at one scale filling one side, and an excellent map of Beirut filling the other side. To my knowledge this is the only commercially available map of either Lebanon or Beirut outside of Lebanon. We’ve done our best; now it is up to the market to critique it. This guide is an initiative by Studio Beirut and contains many photos in colour and illustrations by, amongst others, Jan Rothuizen.
